The RAC 2.2-150-380-API-Z1 is a high-resolution spindle motor controller that has the capability to handle the lowest motor speeds. The main characteristics of this controller are high stiffness and large speed range. High stiffness protects the controller mechanically by resisting deformation caused due to different applied forces. Similarly, a large speed range provides the flexibility to the controller to be used in wide diversified areas of applications.
The power supply for the controller is a 3 phase AC supply having the parameters of 400V and 50Hz. This controller has an integrated contactor and emergency stop which helps to feed the regenerated energy back into the three-phase supply network during braking time. Since it has to deal with high voltage and high current, so, the cooling system is well designed to make its performance sustainable. It comprises an in-built fan. The heat sink used in power electronics and cooling fans is built inside the main controller housing which experiences a cool airflow guided through the air shaft. The controller also contains a hose cooling technique in which outside cool air is drawn in over a hose and blown out again. This technique helps to equip the controller from a structural point of view when there is difficulty to have cut-outs in the back wall of the control cabinet.
Besides this, the controller has an additional encoder input which is mainly used either for providing spindle feedback to position controller or operation an additional motor for the multi-drive system. The controller also provides an additional interface in the form of an incremental encoder output that helps to control the position via CNC control during the C-axis operation.
