The RAC 2.2-150-380-A0S-Z1 is a highly intelligent spindle drive controller. The controller has got an internal closed position control loop by motor feedback that helps to control the position of the spindle concerning received signals. This controller can also operate the spindle in servo-axis with the help of high-resolution feedback, equipped with it. This aids the controller to control even the lowest speeds with greater precision. Numerically, the controller can sense the position of the rotor with a topmost resolution of about 1/4000000 revolutions.
There are various factors that govern the operating conditions of the controller like ambient temperature, installation altitude, permissible ambient humidity, etc. According to the DIN 40 040, the maximum allowed ambient humidity is of class F I.e. average relative humidity should always be below 70% even in humid months. Furthermore, this supports the operation of the controller in humid places too. The controller comprises an operating ambient temperature range between 5℃ to 45℃ with a maximum permissible limit of 55℃. The maximum installation altitude of the controller is 1000m above sea level as the values for rated torque and power of spindle drive decrease with rising in altitude.
During the time of operation, if there is a rise in temperature of the controller, the drive controller discharges the heat to the surrounding through the means of air slits present in cover and through embedded heat sinks. The controller is also provided with an external air cooling method during overheating problems. The controller has also got an additional bleeder which enhances its safety feature. This bleeder helps to discharge the electric charge stored in the power supply's filter capacitor during the equipment's shutdown time, ultimately providing safety against electric shocks.
