Product Description
The present state of the art invention by Bosch-Rexroth provides a simplified low part count solid state thyristor controlled welding power supply which overcomes the drawbacks of older welding platforms by integrating advance automatic control and monitoring functions. This preferred invention includes a two-phase full wave bridge circuit implemented by a pair of SCRs for each phase in which each SCR receives one triggering pulse per half cycle at an appropriate firing angle. The PST6250.680-L is a Thyristor Power Unit designed for connection of welding transformers and is suitable in resistance welding of metals used in industrial applications.
The power unit has integrated weld timer with a standalone CPU for control and monitoring functions of the welding timer. The BOS-5000 operator interface provides easy programming, operation and diagnostics of the thyristor power unit. The power unit is easily planned into a portable metal box and features reduced cabling due to integrated system modules. The PST6250.680-L provide a thyristor controlled high current output requiring only one short firing pulse per half cycle and assures continued conduction of the thyristor for the remaining desired portion of the half cycle regardless of the load at the welding point. Beside main welding transformer the PST6250.680-L power unit contain a Firing transformer (5 KHz), main transformer (for Synch Volt 27VAC) and measuring transformer (Feedback). The product implements air cooling. Insufficient cooling or overload on the thyristor power unit may trigger faulty status and restrict the unit from operation. The LED on the front panel of the power unit indicated normal/faulty status of the unit. The product is to be used with welding transformers up to 250KV and supports max current of 200A. The product fully comply with industrial standardization and qualificaitons. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
