The PST6100.100-W is a thyristor power unit manufactured by Rexroth Indramat. The thyristor power unit is designed for the alternating or current in resistance welding processes. The controlling operations of the thyristor power unit are facilitated by the weld timer, I/O interface, programming module and the quality module, all of which are integrated into the device.
The PST6100.100-W uses a nominal system current of 130 Amperes. Its housing is produced according to IP20 protection category, meaning that the thyristor is only protected from solid materials larger than 12 millimetres. Condensation of moisture in and around the thyristor power unit should be prevented at all cost as this can cause irreparable damage to the thyristor. Also, the drive controller should not be operated in ambient conditions with acids, caustic solutions, corrosive agents, salts and metal vapours of any significant concentration. The thyristor power unit is cooled by natural convection. The clock frequency of the weld timer ranges from 50 to 60 Hertz. The thyristor can operate with a supply voltage that ranges from 19 to 30 Volts. It weighs about 12.5 kilograms.
