Bosch Rexroth Indramat developed the PPC-R02.2N-N-NN-P2-NN-FW to control servo drives. While the unit will control the drives there may be a need for additional actors and sensors for it to work at its highest level of efficiency. This unit can provide control to up to 40 of Bosch Rexroth intelligent digital drives by way of the VisualMotion Toolkit PC software.
As a stand-alone unit, the PPC-R02.2N-N-NN-P2-NN-FW controller must be installed on your RMB rack in the leftmost slot. This is the slot with the 00 definitions. The device will in this case control the backplane communications of the installed input and output modules of the LocalReco 02. The Reco 02 form factor is used in a number of input and output modules along with programming logic controls and multi-axis motion units. All the above share the Reco 02 form factor.
The VisualMotion control can be used with digital servo drives such as the EcoDrive 03 and the Diax 04 drives from Rexroth. All communications between the servo drive and the PPC-R02.2N-N-NN-P2-NN-FW controller via an interface known as SERCOS. This interface happens to be the international standard for digital servo drives real-time communication. The software can be controlled with the VisualMotion GPP 10 firmware which provides non-coordinated as well as multi-axis coordinated controls. The software along with the device allows for the support of many applications in robotics and motion control. With a TCP/IP stack, one has the ability to transmit data over the internet or a network via OPC and DDE servicers thanks to communications with the VisualMotion Toolkit.
