The Rexroth MTC-R01.1-E1-A2-FW is a SPS module. It is one of the components of the MTC200-R CNC controller system. CNC stands for computer numerical control: it is the automated control of machining tools by means of a computer. The MTC200-R is available in IP 20 rating and can be installed inside a cabinet with the RMB02.2 rack. Other than the SPS module, the MTC200-R system also contains the MTCR0.1 NC module. The MTC-R01.1-E1-A2-FW consists of a base unit which contains the CNC processor and an integrated axis processor. An additional module, if installed in slot U1, enables the control of an additional 8 drives. The MTC-R01.1-E1-A2-FW is available without export restrictions and comes with an axis processor module with coprocessor that can control a maximum of 16 axes. Firmware for the MTC-R01.1-E1-A2-FW needs to be ordered separately.

The axis processor module on the MTC-R01.1-E1-A2-FW is used for communication between the controller and the digital drives over the SERCOS interface. Addressing for the axis processor is set via the DIP switches. Allowed ambient temperature for the MTC-R01.1-E1-A2-FW is 0 to 55 degrees Celsius. The module requires 24 Volts DC input with 4 Vpp permissible ripple. The supported input voltage range is 18 to 28 Volts DC. The maximum heat dissipation for the module is 14.3 Watts. The maximum current consumption is 510 milliamps. Weight of the MTC-R01.1-E1-A2-FW is 1.0 kilogram and the module dimensions are 41.5 x 192 x 152 millimeters. Either glass or plastic fiber cables can be used with the SERCOS interface. The maximum length supported by either of these fiber types should not be exceeded during installation. The fiber cables should also be protected from stresses which could damage or break the cables. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
