The Rexroth MTC-P01.2-M2-A2-A2-A2-FW EP is a CNC control module. Firmware for the module needs to be ordered separately. It has one integrated and three additional axis modules. These modules are designed for the control of industrial drives. Each of the axis processors communicates with a maximum of 8 drives through a SERCOS interface. This interface uses fiber optic cables for communication. Plastic fiber cables can be used for distances of up to 40 meters. Glass fiber cables can be used for distance of up to 500 meters. Maximum length of the fiber cables should not be exceeded during installation. Rexroth also does not recommend switching from a glass to plastic fiber or vice versa at a joint. This means that only glass or only plastic fibers should be used for the transmitter to receiver connection.
During fiber storage it must be ensured that the protective caps are screwed on. During fiber laying and pulling it must be ensured that the installation stress does not cause damage to the cables. The cables should not be laid across sharp edges or on rough and uneven surfaces. The transmitter and receiver connectors on the SERCOS interface on the MTC-P01.2-M2-A2-A2-A2-FW EP should be closed with a protective cap when not in use. The MTC-P01.2-M2-A2-A2-A2-FW EP is a CNC module with export restrictions. It is designed for installation inside industrial PCs from Rexroth including the BTV 20 / BTV 30 series of computers. The MTC-P01.2-M2-A2-A2-A2-FW EP comes in an ISA bus format. The power for the module is carried over the ISA bus. The CNC module also communicates with the industrial PC over the ISA bus. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
