Product Description
The Bosch Rexroth MSK101D-0450-FN-M2-AG2-RNNN is a feature-rich synchronous servo motor. It is called a servo motor because it provides feedback and forms part of a closed-loop control system. The motor provides feedback about its operating parameters to a drive controller. The feedback consists of parameters (speed, torque etc.) measurements that are made by an encoder. The MSK101D-0450-FN-M2-AG2-RNNN features an optical multiturn encoder with an EnDat 2.1 interface. The encoder’s maximum current consumption is 250 milliamps. The supply voltage range of the encoder is 3.6 to 14 Volts DC. The motor also features an electrically-released holding brake. This brake is designed to clamp down on the shaft and prevent it from rotating. The brake releases the shaft after a 24 Volts DC signal is applied. The brake acts as a safety device and prevents unintentional shaft rotations that could cause injury.
Two types of shafts are available for MKS motors: smooth shaft and shafts with keyway. Both types of shaft include a seal. The shaft on the MSK101D-0450-FN-M2-AG2-RNNN is smooth. Housings for MSK motors are available in multiple designs. The housing of the MSK101D-0450-FN-M2-AG2-RNNN is designed with increased concentricity and run out. The motor gets power from the drive controller. The power cable connects to a socket on side A of the motor housing. MSK motors support three cooling methods: surface cooling, natural convection and liquid cooling. The MSK101D-0450-FN-M2-AG2-RNNN is designed for liquid cooling. A coolant flows through the cooling duct on the motor. The minimum required coolant flow rate for the MSK101D-0450-FN-M2-AG2-RNNN motor is 2 liters per minute. To prevent installation errors, the motor and its associated equipment should only be handled by trained personnel.
