The MSK100D-0300-NN-M3-AP2-NNNN is a versatile servo motor from Bosch Rexroth. It comes with several features that include a holding brake, an optical encoder and shaft with keyway. The encoder is a capacitive multiturn encoder with Hiperface support. A capacitive encoder is a type of rotary encoder that uses capacitance to measure the position of a rotating shaft. It consists of two stationary metal plates and a rotating metal plate, with the change in capacitance between the plates as the shaft rotates being used to determine the position of the shaft. Capacitive encoders are known for their high accuracy and reliability, and they can be used in a wide range of applications including industrial automation, robotics, and medical devices. The encoder is rated for 16 signal periods. The 70 Nm holding brake operates according to the principle of electrical release.

It is designed to release the shaft on application of a 24 Volts DC signal. Current draw of the brake is 1.29 Amps. The brake’s maximum connection time is 53 milliseconds and the maximum disconnection time is 97 milliseconds. Moment of inertia of the brake is 0.003 kg m2. The shaft with keyway complies with DIN 6885-1, a German industry standard that specifies the technical requirements and tolerances for keyways and splines used in shafts and hubs. The standard covers keyway dimensions, tolerances, and fit specifications, as well as requirements for keyway shapes, hardness, and surface finish. DIN 6885-1 is widely used in mechanical engineering and industrial applications and helps ensure that keyways and splines fit properly and provide the required strength and stability for rotating shafts.
