The MSK100D-0300-FN-M2-LG0-RNPN is a Bosch industrial motor. It is a servo motor with an optical multiturn absolute encoder. The encoder has an EnDat 2.1 interface and is rated for 2048 signal periods. EnDat 2.1 is a communication protocol used for the transmission of data between encoders and controllers. It is an upgraded version of the EnDat protocol, which is widely used in the industrial automation industry for precision measurement and control applications. EnDat 2.1 offers faster data transfer rates and improved data accuracy compared to previous versions of the protocol. Additionally, it includes a number of new features such as multi-channel support, improved diagnostics, and enhanced security. EnDat 2.1 is also backwards compatible with older versions of the protocol, making it a convenient choice for companies looking to upgrade their systems without having to replace existing encoders and controllers.

The MSK100D-0300-FN-M2-LG0-RNPN motor gets electrical power from the drive controller. A power cable that connects the motor to the controller terminates on an electrical connector located on left side of the motor housing. Bosch has designed the motor for cooling via liquid cooling. Liquid cooling is a method of dissipating heat generated by the motor by using a liquid coolant to transfer heat away from the motor and into a radiator or other heat exchanger. This method is more effective than air cooling as the heat transfer coefficient of liquids is much higher than that of air. In liquid cooled motors, a coolant, typically water or water-glycol mixture, is pumped through the motor housing and windings to absorb the heat generated by the motor. The heated liquid then flows through a radiator or other heat exchanger where the heat is transferred to the surrounding air and the cooled liquid is then returned to the motor to absorb more heat.
