The Bosch Rexroth MSK100B-0400-NN-M2-BG0-RNNN is a servo motor. Its housing is designed with increased concentricity and run out. The motor housing complies with DIN 42955. The housing is fully sealed. Both of the cable connectors on the motor are also sealed. In addition, the smooth motor shaft also includes a sealing ring. All these factors combine to give the motor an IP65 protection rating. This rating indicates that the motor is fully protected against dust. In addition, the motor is also protected against water that may be directed at it from low-pressure jets. As a result, the servo motor is well suited to applications that involve motor use in adverse operating conditions. The ambient temperature recommended by Bosch for the MSK100B-0400-NN-M2-BG0-RNNN motor is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The motor output derates linearly above 40 degrees Celsius and reaches 20% of rated output at 55 degrees Celsius.
The installation site elevation recommended by Bosch for the MSK100B-0400-NN-M2-BG0-RNNN motor is 0 to 1000 meters. Output of the motor derates non-linearly between 1000 and 3000 meters, and reaches approximately 35% of rated output at 3000 meters. Bosch Rexroth does not approve motor use at elevations above 3000 meters. The MSK100B-0400-NN-M2-BG0-RNNN motor is designed for natural convection. Installation of a cooling fan enables motor use with surface cooling. The servo motor is equipped with a multiturn absolute encoder that has an EnDat 2.1 interface and is rated for 2048 signal periods. The power connector is situated on side B of the motor housing. MSK motors support optional holding brakes. However the MSK100B-0400-NN-M2-BG0-RNNN motor is not equipped with a brake. Bosch recommends servo motor installation by trained personnel only.
