The Bosch MSK071D-0450-FN-S1-UP0-NNNN is a synchronous servo motor. It is called a synchronous motor as its rotor speed is synchronized to the frequency of input current. It is called a servo motor as it is part of a feedback-based control system. A sensor on the motor, called an encoder, sends feedback to the drive controller. The feedback is comprised of information such as current motor speed and torque. The drive controller uses this information to modulate its output and control motor parameters such as speed and torque. Two cables connect the drive controller and the motor. One cable is a power cable and the other cable is a feedback cable. These cables connect to respective connectors on the motor housing.
