The Bosch Rexroth MSK071C-0300-NN-M1-UP1-NNNN is a synchronous servo motor. It is a synchronous motor because its speed is synched to the frequency of input current. It is a servo motor because it comes with an integrated encoder that measures speed and torque. These measurements, known as feedback, are sent to a drive controller that controls motor speed and torque.  Feedback from the motor allows the controller to accurately control motor speed and torque. The encoder on the MSK071C-0300-NN-M1-UP1-NNNN is an optical multiturn encoder with Hiperface support. Maximum speed that the encoder can measure is 9000 RPM. The encoder supply voltage range is 7 to 12 Volts DC and the maximum current consumption is 60 milliamps. The MSK071C-0300-NN-M1-UP1-NNNN also features an integrated holding brake. This brake operates according to the electrical release principle.

Peak connection time for the holding brake is 35 milliseconds and the peak disconnection time is 180 milliseconds. The main shaft on the MSK071C-0300-NN-M1-UP1-NNNN includes a keyway and a seal.
