There are two crucial things you should know about this MSK061C variation. The first one is that it uses a single-turn Hiperface optical encoder. The built-in encoder unit sends the data on the rotor position to the drive controller. That is how you can control the motor and adjust its speed.
The startup is quick, and the use is simple. Keep in mind that the system accuracy of this method is within 80 angular seconds. Also, since it is a single-turn encoder, it allows an absolute, indirect recording of the position within one mechanical rotation.
The other important characteristic of this unit is that it does not have a holding brake. Since these brakes were not designed to be used as operational brakes, many users will not even miss them.
As for other things worth noting, the natural convection is the preferred cooling system for the MSK061C motors. It allows the heat to dissipate naturally into the room. In practice, it is a fairly effective cooling method, but you need to keep the unit clean as pollution is the enemy of the cooling efficiency.
