Product Description
Synchronous servomotors by Rexroth Indramat come in various flavours. Among these, the MSK-series motors are considered the go-to products for applications requiring a compact motor design and high torque generation at fast motor speeds. Due to the high level of customization possible with these motors, in terms of design and performance, their applications can sometimes be extended beyond the basic functionalities of regular servomotors.
The MSK050C-0600-NN-S2-UG0-RNNN is a custom variant of the MSK series, which is defined in functionality according to its name-code. Belonging to the ‘MSK050C’ class, it has a dimension of 98mm and 95mm for its flange size and centering diameter respectively. The ‘0600’ winding code also specifies its performance specifications as follows: A continuous torque at standstill and maximum torque of 5.0Nm and 15.0Nm respectively. The maximum speed of the motor is at 6000min-1, a speed at which the maximum torque can be realized for a short duration of 400ms. It weighs at 5.4kg but has a good rotor moment-of-inertia of 3.3×10-4 kgm2. This motor features a standard housing design, with rotatable electrical connectors/plugs installed at the top-end section of the motor. It also has a standard shaft type, smooth and with shaft sealing ring; however, it does not come with a holding brake. Positional feedback is available for this motor via its optical encoder: a single-turn Hiperface with 128 signal periods. This can be easily interfaced with an intelligent drive-controller for applications requiring a basic closed loop control.
Every motor generates heat during operation, which can damage the motor and reduce its performance/lifespan if left unmanaged. For this motor, heat is easily dissipated via a natural convection policy, which improves its overall reliability across a wide range of potential applications.
