A servo motor is different from a non-servo motor in that the servo motor sends feedback about its speed and position to a device that is controlling the motor. The device that performs motor control is usually a drive controller. The device on the motor that measures the speed and other motor parameters is called an encoder. The MSK050C-0300-NN-M3-UG1-NNNN features a capacitive encoder with Hiperface interface. The multiturn absolute encoder on the motor is rated for 16 signal periods.
