The MS2N03-D0BYN-CMSH1-NNNNN-GE060N2040AN-NN is a CtrlX drive-compatible servo motor with an Asynchronous design. This motor has a frame of size D, which is a medium-sized design for a servo motor and weighs approximately 1.4 kg, making it very lightweight considering this is an industrial servo motor capable of providing a rotational torque of 7.4 Nm, which is perfect for low to medium torque applications. The design is also low power demanding, drawing around 14.5 amperes of current. The motor design has a torque constant of 0.6 Newton per meter of length for one ampere of current that it draws from the power supply module.
The CMSH1 configuration in this servo motor design allows the MS2N03-D0BYN-CMSH1-NNNNN-GE060N2040AN-NN to have a multi-turn absolute encoder, which is capable of generating a word byte for every known position in one single revolution. One revolution is broken down into 4096 fine parts, which is also the resolution of this servo motor. This allows the motor shaft to be precisely placed for high accuracy applications, such as robotics. The encoder relies on the ACURO link communication protocol, which is responsible for not only transmitting the position values of the motor shaft but also the motor coil temperature.
The ACURO Link encoder protocol generates a 20-bit data packet, which contains 16 to 18 bits of data for the position and temperature values, while the remaining bits are responsible for error detection and diagnostic bits containing the CRC and checksum error codes, which the motor controller processes to ensure the data transmitted has not been corrupted during transmission by external noise. This communication protocol is bidirectional.
