It gives constant position information and remains functional even after the loss of power or when the motor is turned off. In incremental encoders, the displacement data must be reset every time the motor starts again, thus an absolute encoder is useful for automation systems. This feature allows continuing the operations from the breakpoint without additional time and increases the motor's reliability.

This motor is also built with IM B5/IM 3001 construction denoted by A, allowing accurate and correct coupling with machinery.
