A holding brake or a blocking brake is a safety features for high running motors which may need to be stopped suddenly or kept stationery when not in use, these are a standard option to be chosen for the customer as per their requirement or not. The MS2N03-D0BYN-AMDK1-NNANN-NN has a holding brake working on the electrically released principle.
The holding torque capacity of the brake is 1.80 Nm and the dynamic braking torque is 1.3 Nm. The rated voltage is 24 V and the rated current stands at 0.46 A which governs the running conditions of the brake. There is a slight delay in the command and actual execution of the command at the brake, this causes a max. disconnection time 35 ms and a max. connection time of 8 ms. The max. switched energy is 300 Ws. It is to be noted that all these data are taken in ideal condition operation of the holding brake, for real life applications the tolerance is of plus minus 10%.
