It is an AC electric motor in which, at steady state, the rotation of the shaft is synchronized with the frequency of the supply current; the rotation period is exactly equal to an integer number of AC cycles. This particular model comes with 5 poles and has a rated speed of 6470 rotations per minute, which can be further increased up to 9000 rotations per minute at maximum operating conditions. The motor has a frame length B and a low inertia design, making this motor perfect for high-speed applications.
