The MKE035B-144-KG1-KN industrial motor is a new generation motor manufactured by Rexroth Indramat. This motor features a brushless design, thus it operates with increased reliability, reduced noise, longer lifetime by eliminating brush and commutator erosion, elimination of ionizing sparks from the commutator, and an overall reduction of electromagnetic interference. This electrical motor is also characterized by its ability to generates a high torque output over a broad speed range. This motor is safe for industrial application, however, dangerous movement can occur if environmental, installation, and configuration instructions in the controller’s documentation are not followed during the application of the motor. The MKE035B-144-KG1-KN industrial motor is designed with a single-turn absolute hyperface encoder which has a resolution of about 12 bit, this encoder can consume a maximum current of about 60 milliamperes and can reach a maximum encoder speed of 12,000 revolutions per minute. The encoder monitors the physical movements of the motor, converts these movements to electrical signals, and then sends these signals to the drive controller through the motor feedback cable in real-time. This electrical motor also contains a holding brake which it uses to retain load connected to the motor’s shaft when the motor is at standstill.
The MKE035B-144-KG1-KN industrial motor should only be operated by highly trained industrial operators as mishandling of the motor can cause dangerous movements in the servo drive. The MKE035B-144-KG1-KN industrial motor also contains a terminal box through which all electrical cables enter into the housing unit of the controller.
