MKD090B-047-KG0-KN is a synchronous servo motor. It is part of the MKD series from Bosch Rexroth. The motor has an IP65 rated housing. The robust ingress protection provided by the housing allows use of the motor in a wide range of operating conditions. For optimal operation, Bosch recommends 0 to 40 degrees Celsius ambient temperature. Higher temperatures cause output derating i.e. the output current and torque will be less than rated values. The maximum permitted ambient temperature with output derating is 55 degrees Celsius. Optimal operation also requires setup heights that are less than 1000 meters. The maximum permitted setup height with derating is 3000 meters. The MKD090B-047-KG0-KN motor has a plain shaft. The shaft includes a seal that prevents oil leakage. The shaft seal also protects motor bearings from dust, debris and moisture,
MKD motors support resolver feedback. The MKD090B-047-KG0-KN motor is equipped with an additional multiturn absolute encoder that provides absolute position detection. Feedback is a feature that allows precise control of motor speed and position. Motors with feedback, such as MKD motors, are therefore used for applications that require a very high level of precision. Bosch has designed the motor for convection cooling and surface cooling. If operators intend to use the motor with surface cooling, they must order an optional radial blower for the motor. Bosch provides radial blowers for MKD090 series motor that run on external 115/230 Volts AC. The power terminal box faces towards side B of the housing. A flange on the housing enables secure motor mounting. MKD motors can be mounted in any desired position. Only qualified technical personnel with proper training should be allowed to handle the motor.
