Product Description
MKD041B-144-KP1-KN is an industrial servo motor. It is designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. The motor is part of the MKD series. MKD motor features are highly optimized for demanding industrial applications. Permanent magnets used for MKD motor construction allow development of motor with low inertia, which enables fast acceleration and deceleration and reduced energy consumption. MKD motors support electronic commutation for high reliability which also enables continuous start-stop operation. Effective heat dissipation enables high overload capacity. Integrated temperature monitoring helps to prevent overload damage. The rotor shafts on MKD motors are equipped with a shaft seal that helps to retain lubricants, such as oil or grease and prevents external contaminants, such as dust, water, and debris, from entering the motor housing. The MKD041B-144-KP1-KN motor is equipped with a resolver for feedback.
It features an additional multiturn encoder. The combination of a resolver and encoder provides absolute position detection (more than 4096 revolutions). To control the motor speed or position the motor, the drive controller requires information on the current motor position. The integrated feedback system makes the appropriate information available to the drive controller. The MKD041B-144-KP1-KN motor is equipped with a holding brake. This brake operates according to the electrical release principle. In the de-energized state, a magnetic force acts upon the brake armature disk. This causes the brake to close and to hold the axis. By applying 24 Volts DC signal, the permanent magnetic field is compensated by the electrically generated magnetic field and the brake releases the shaft. MKD motors require 0 to 40 degrees Celsius for optimal performance. Operation at higher temperatures should be avoided as it leads to output derating.
