These motors are used extensively in printing and paper industries, automation and handling systems, packaging and food processing machines, and machine tools.
The MHD115B-024-NG1-BA is a synchronous servo motor model in the MHD series designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. It is equipped with lifetime-lubricated bearings designed for high radial loads. Hence, the direct overhung mounting of pinions and belt pulleys is supported in this motor. It also features a brushless design that allows it to be operated maintenance-free. The motor has thermal sensors in its windings to protect it from damage due to thermal overload. It also has a high overload capability as heat is efficiently dissipated from its stator windings to the walls of its housing. In addition, it is designed to be cooled by natural convection and surface cooling.
Since the housing of the MHD115B-024-NG1-BA is completely sealed, it is touch-proof, shock-proof, and dust-proof. Hence, it has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 65 according to EN 60529. This housing is coated in a black prime coat that is resistant to weathering, coloring, chalking, and diluted acids. This MHD motor’s encoder is digital servo feedback which uses the optical measurement method for measuring and controlling the motor’s speed and position. The system accuracy of the encoder is ±0.5 angular minutes, and it eliminates the need for separate incremental encoders with this motor. It also features a data memory where the motor’s parameters are stored to ensure its quick startup and safe adjustment to the drive controller.
