Product Description
The Bosch MHD115A-024-NG1-BA is an industrial synchronous motor. A synchronous motor is one whose shaft speed is synchronized to the frequency of the input current. The input current to the motor is supplied by a drive controller. The controller varies its output current frequency based on the difference between the desired motor speed and the actual motor speed. The desired motor speed is a parameter that is programmed by the system operator. The actual motor speed is measured by a motor sensor known as an encoder. This measurement is communicated to the controller through a dedicated feedback cable. The MHD115A-024-NG1-BA supports digital servo feedback. It features a plain shaft with a seal. The purpose of the shaft seal is to protect the motor from contaminants present in the operating environment.
The MHD115A-024-NG1-BA includes a 70 Nm holding brake. This brakes operates at 24 Volts DC. Cooling methods supported by the MHD115A-024-NG1-BA are natural convection and surface cooling. Natural convection relies on the flow of cool air over the heated motor body for heat dissipation. Surface cooling requires increased air flow which is provided by optional fan units. For higher loads, the MHD115A-024-NG1-BA can be ordered with either of two optional fan units. One of the compatible fan units is the LEM-AB112X121, which operates at 230 Volts AC, draws 45 VA power, provides 340 m3/hour mean air volume and weights 1.2 kilograms. The other compatible fan unit is the LEM-AB112X221, which operates at 115 Volts AC, draws 40 VA power provides, 390 m3/hour mean air volume and weights 1.1 kilograms. The power connector on the MHD115A-024-NG1-BA is one side B of the housing. Centering diameter of the MHD115A-024-NG1-BA motor is 180 millimeters.
