The MHD112D-024-PP3-BN is a motor with an integrated encoder and a holding brake. The motor encoder is a multi-turn encoder. This type of encoder provides feedback in multiple shaft revolutions. A single-turn encoder on the other hand provides feedback within a single shaft revolution. The integrated encoder enables digital servo feedback on the MHD112D-024-PP3-BN motor. The holding brake is provided to prevent shaft rotation from startup. It releases the shaft on application of a 24 Volts DC signal. Holding torque of the brake is 70 Nm. Brakes with 22 Nm / 32 Nm holding torque ratings are also available and can be specified at the time of motor ordering. The shaft on the MHD112D-024-PP3-BN includes a key and a seal. The function of the seal is to prevent motor oil leakage.
The seal also prevents ingress of dust and moisture that are present in the operating environment. The MHD112D-024-PP3-BN delivers rated output when the temperature of the surrounding air is between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius and when the installation site altitude is between 0 and 1000 meters above sea level. Motor operation under non-specified ambient conditions is not recommended. Motor use for non-approved applications is not allowed. Motor use with non-approved accessories is not allowed. Trained and qualified personnel should handle and install the MHD112D-024-PP3-BN motor and associated machinery. The MHD112D-024-PP3-BN mounts through four holes on the motor flange. The power connector is located on side B of the housing. The motor cools via natural convection or surface cooling. The bearings on the MHD112D-024-PP3-BN motor are grease-lubricated for their entire service life. The motor housing belongs to IP65 protection category and is completely sealed against dust ingress.
