The Bosch MHD095B-035-NP1-BN is a MHD motor. It is a servo motor with built-in encoder for feedback. The ability of the motor to share feedback with a drive controller allows the formation of a closed-loop control system for high-performance industrial applications. MHD motors, in combination with digital drives, can be used for a wide range of applications including machine tools, packaging machines, food machines and paper industries. The housing of the motor is designed for cooling via natural convection or surface cooling. Natural convection can be used for low load applications and surface cooling can be used for high load applications. The main shaft on the MHD095B-035-NP1-BN includes both a key and a sealing ring. The shaft seal prevents oil leakage from the motor. The shaft seal also prevents ingress of contaminants that could damage the motor.
The MHD095B-035-NP1-BN is supplied with an integrated 22 Nm holding brake. The purpose of the brake is to prevent motor startup from standstill. The motor is essentially a safety device and releases when a 24 Volts DC control signal is applied. The motor gets power from the drive controller. The power cable from the drive connects to a power connector situated on side B of the housing of the MHD095B-035-NP1-BN motor. Bosch has designed the MHD095B-035-NP1-BN for flange mounting. For this purpose four holes for screws are provided on the motor flange. The size of the flange on the MHD095B-035-NP1-BN motor is 140 millimeters. The centering diameter of the MHD095B-035-NP1-BN motor is 130 millimeters. The protection class of the MHD095B-035-NP1-BN is IP65. Only qualified technical personnel should be involved in installation and operation of the servo motor and drive controller.
