Product Description
Bosch Rexroth set up its compact MDD synchronous servo motors to suit a wide range of automation applications. They assure high contouring accuracies, especially when used for cutting at high speed ranges.
The MDD115C-N-020-N2L-130PB0 is a brushless MDD motor with a rotor moment of inertia of 222 x 10-4 kgm2. This rotor guarantees its low inertia so that it has an ideal torque-inertia ratio for highly dynamic operations. It is composed of permanent magnets made with iron oxide materials. The servo motor has a compact build to allow space-saving installation without a drop in performance. Such a build also gives it a high power-to-weight ratio. It dissipates heat via natural convection and displays impressive overload capability as heat is efficiently transferred from its stator windings to the outside walls of its housing. This housing is coated with a black prime varnish that protects the motor from the potentially harmful effects of chalky build-up, yellowing, and weathering.
Maintenance-free operation enhances the durability of the MDD115C-N-020-N2L-130PB0. It is made possible by the motor’s brushless design and lifetime-lubricated bearings with a nominal service life of 30,000 operating hours. This MDD model is equipped with digital servo feedback to evaluate its relative indirect position. The encoder uses the optical measurement method to ensure excellent precision and has a system accuracy of ±0.5 angular minutes. There is an output shaft with keyway in the servo motor, which provides a form-fitting transaction and reduces the risk of slippage and other types of mechanical failure. It has a shaft sealing ring that prevents fluids from entering the motor through the shaft. The MDD model’s nominal speed is 3,000 revolutions per minute.
