Product Description
Bosch Rexroth’s drive units are future-proof products that solve several automation challenges. Its MDD synchronous servo motors are cost-effective options, which are also used to create automation systems when combined with Indramat digital drive controllers. The motors are used in robotics and machine tools.
The MDD112C-N-030-N2M-180PB0 is a compact servo motor in the MDD series with a high power-to-weight ratio. It has a high cyclic load capacity thanks to electronic commutation; hence, it is suitable for continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. Its brushless design and lifetime-lubricated bearings allow its maintenance-free operation. These bearings have a nominal service life of 30,000 operating hours. The motor’s design also allows pinions and belt pulleys to be directly attached to the shaft as it accommodates the application of high radial loads. It can be installed in any orientation, but this should be at a maximum height of 1,000m above mean sea level.
A shaft with keyway ensures form-fitting torque transmission in the MDD112C-N-030-N2M-180PB0. It also has a shaft sealing ring that protects it from damaging fluids that would enter through the shaft. The motor’s nominal speed is 3,000 revolutions per minute. It accommodates a peak current of 166.4A and has a rotor moment of inertia of 170 x 10-4 kgm2. A temperature sensor is built into its windings to prevent irreversible damage due to overheating. Heat is also efficiently eliminated from the stator windings to the outside walls of the motor housing, giving it high overload capabilities. The housing is sealed, preventing solid extrinsic materials and multidirectional water jet sprays from penetrating. Hence, its Ingress Protection rating is IP 65 per DIN 40 050.
