Product Description
Digital AC servo motors like those in the MDD series by Bosch Rexroth form rapid-response automation systems from Indramat. They are powerful motors with different torques, speeds, and sizes. Drives with the motors have several applications, including robotics, machine tools, and printing machines.
The MDD112C-N-020-N2M-180PA2 is a compact servo motor of the MDD series designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. Its sealed housing allows its risk-free use within the direct working area of the machine, even under poor environmental conditions. This housing is designed to be touch-proof, dustproof, and impervious to multidirectional water jet sprays in line with the IP 65 category per DIN 40 050. It also uses power and feedback cables that meet the requirements of this protection category. To keep it from irreversible damage due to thermal overload, the servo motor is fitted with a thermal sensor in its stator windings. This allows its temperature to be monitored by the user. Heat is also efficiently removed from the windings and transferred to the external walls of its housing.
Reaching a nominal speed of 2,000 revolutions per minute, the MDD112C-N-020-N2M-180PA2 can accommodate a maximum current of 110.5A. Its high cyclic load capacity is the result of electronic commutation and reduces the risk of failure caused by fatigue from repeated stress cycles. Hence, the servo motor works for continuous start-stop operations with high repetition cycles. Its absolute indirect position is evaluated by digital servo feedback with an integrated multiturn absolute encoder. The encoder utilizes the optical measuring principle and stores the motor’s information in its data memory. With this feedback type, the absolute position of the axis will remain even after power is switched off.
