Product Description
Bosch Rexroth’s MDD motors are compact synchronous servo motors built to support several applications in automation, drive and motion control. One of these is the creation of rapid-response automation systems when they are combined with intelligent digital drive controllers from Indramat.
The MDD112B-N-040-R2L-130GB0 is a model of the MDD synchronous servo motors by Bosch Rexroth. It is enclosed in a sealed housing with an Ingress Protection rating of IP 65 per DIN 40 050, as it cannot be penetrated by solid extrinsic materials or water jets from different directions. This servo motor has a nominal speed of 4,000 revolutions per minute and accommodates a peak current of 166.4A. Its rotor’s permanent magnets are composed of materials that give it low inertia; this rotor has a moment of inertia of 120 x 10-4 kgm2. The MDD motor is best suited for high-precision applications that require high-level synchronism as seen in grinding machines. It is also compact and has a high power-to-weight ratio.
A thermal sensor in the stator of the MDD112B-N-040-R2L-130GB0 protects it from damage due to thermal overload. The servo motor is also protected from yellowing, chalky buildup, weathering, and lyes by a black prime varnish with which it is coated. It has a brushless design with lifetime-lubricated bearings that allow its maintenance-free operation and enhance its operational reliability. These bearings have a nominal lifetime of 30,000 operating hours. The motor is cooled via natural convection and surface cooling; hence, it supports extreme loads. With electronic commutation, it has a high cyclic load capacity so that it can be used for continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. Its centering diameter is 130mm.
