Bosch Rexroth’s MDD motors are compact digital AC servo motors with electronic commutation. They are designed to provide cost-effective and energy-efficient operations for a wide range of applications, including textile machines and handling equipment.
The MDD112B-N-020-N2M-180PB2 is a brushless servo motor of the MDD series with features that support high synchronous operation. These include the sinusoidal application of current with high motor feedback resolution. Its feedback type is digital servo feedback with an integrated multiturn absolute encoder for the evaluation of its absolute indirect position. This encoder’s measuring principle is the optical system, allowing for impressive precision. It also retains the absolute position of the axis, even after power is switched off. The MDD servo motor can be installed in any orientation. It uses a variety of ready-made cables that simplify the work of installation. According to DIN 40 050, the Ingress Protection rating of its power and feedback cables is IP 65.
Cooling is achieved via natural convection or surface cooling with the MDD112B-N-020-N2M-180PB2. It is protected from permanent damage due to thermal overload by a thermal sensor integrated into its windings. Its design permits the application of high radial loads so that pinions and belt pulleys can be directly attached to its shaft. The output shaft with keyway in the MDD model ensures form-fitting torque transmission. It is also equipped with a sealing ring that protects the motor by preventing fluid penetration along the shaft. Operating this servo motor within the direct working area of the machine poses minimal risks as its housing is sealed. It is also covered with a black prime coating with impressive resistance to yellowing, weathering, and chalky build-up.
