Product Description
High-quality servo motors like those in the MDD series are proof of Bosch Rexroth’s legacy of excellence. These compact motors are used to build cost-effective rapid-response automation systems with the digital intelligent drive controllers from Indramat. They are majorly used in machine tools, robotics, and food processing and packaging machines.
The MDD112A-N-040-N2M-130GA0 is one of the maintenance-free servo motors of the MDD series designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. It has a compact frame and uses ready-made cables for different connections, simplifying its installation. Its rotor is composed of permanent magnets made from rare earth and iron oxide materials; hence, it has low inertia. This rotor’s moment of inertia is 61 x 10-4 kgm2, and the motor can generate a maximum torque of 31.3Nm. Altogether, the favorable torque-inertia ratio makes this MDD model highly dynamic. An inbuilt thermal sensor in its stator winding monitors its temperature to prevent damage by thermal overload.
Digital servo feedback with an integrated absolute multiturn encoder is the motor feedback type of the MDD112A-N-040-N2M-130GA0. It detects the absolute indirect position of the motor, which is stored in the intelligent digital drive. This encoder eliminates the need for a separate incremental encoder and has a data memory where relevant information about the motor are stored. As a result, its startup time is shorter, and it can adjust safely to its drive controller. Its centering diameter is 130mm, while its nominal speed is 4,000 revolutions per minute. The MDD motor’s plain output shaft ensures a non-positive shaft-hub connection with zero backlash and has a shaft sealing ring. It also has lifetime-lubricated bearings with a nominal service life of 30,000 hours.
