The MDD AC digital servo motors create a cost-effective and rapid response automation system when combined with intelligent drive controllers from Indramat. Drives with the servo motors in this series can be used in tools, textile, printing and packaging machines, robotics, handling equipment, and transfer facilities. They are designed to ensure high contouring accuracies at high feed rates, especially when used for cutting in high-speed ranges.
The MDD093D-N-020-N2L-110PB1 has a very high power density which makes it suitable for high dynamic operations like roller feeds for pressing, punching, nibbling machines, and tool changing devices. It is a permanent magnet excited synchronous motor with electronic commutation; hence it is suitable for continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. It is equipped with an integrated digital servo feedback system for the relative indirect position evaluation on the motor. The motor feedback is equipped with data storage capacities in which the motor parameters are stored.
With its standard housing design, the MDD093D-N-020-N2L-110PB1 is suitable for cooling by natural convection. The housing also gives it a high overload capability due to efficient heat conduction. Because it has a completely sealed housing, it can be used in the working area of the machine without fear of damage by coolant or emulsions. The housing varnish is a black prime coating that is resistant to weathering, yellowing, and chalky build-ups, as well as diluted acids and lyes. Its degree of protection is IP 65 according to DIN 40050; hence it is protected against contact to high voltage parts, penetration of extrinsic objects, and the penetration of water. Its power and feedback cables are also constructed to meet the protection rating, IP 65.
