Combining the powerful synchronous servo motors of the MDD series with intelligent digital drive controllers from Indramat produces a rapid-response automation system. Drives with the servo motors are used in food processing and packaging machines, paper processing and printing machines, and machine tools.

The MDD093C-N-030-N2L-130GB1 is a synchronous servo motor in the MDD series with a nominal speed of 3,000 revolutions per minute. It has a brushless design and lifetime-lubricated bearings with a nominal lifetime of 30,000 operating hours. Thanks to electronic commutation, it has a high cyclic load capacity that supports extreme loads like continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. The motor’s sealed housing has an Ingress Protection Rating of IP 65 per EN 60529, proving that it is touch-proof, dust-proof, and impermeable to water jet sprays. This allows it to be operated without the risk of damage under poor environmental conditions. The housing is also coated with a black prime varnish with resistance against chalky buildup, yellowing, weathering, dilute acids, and lyes.

Heat generated during the operation of the MDD093C-N-030-N2L-130GB1 is achieved via natural convection. The cooling mechanism works with a temperature gradient that aids the transfer of heat from the machine to the ambient air and its external walls. This motor’s integrated encoder system is digital servo feedback with a system accuracy of ±0.5 angular minutes.
