Product Description
Digital AC servo motors of the MDD series are designed by Bosch Rexroth to suit multiple applications. They form rapid-response automation systems with intelligent digital drive controllers from Indramat. These motors are typically used in printing machines, machine tools, and transfer facilities.
The MDD093B-N-020-N2M-110GB2 is an MDD model featuring digital servo feedback with an integrated multiturn absolute encoder. This encoder evaluates its absolute indirect position and stores the information obtained in the digital intelligent drive. As a result, there is no need for a separate incremental encoder with this motor. It also uses the optical measuring principle to deliver high precision and has a system accuracy of ±0.5 angular minutes. The servo motor is cooled by natural convection and surface cooling, both of which are energy-efficient methods of heat dissipation. Two features that guarantee its maintenance-free operation are its brushless design and lifetime-lubricated bearings. Its bearings have a nominal service life of 30,000 operating hours.
Thanks to the use of a wide variety of ready-made cables, the installation of the MDD093B-N-020-N2M-110GB2 is simplified. Its housing is built in line with the IP 65 requirements per DIN 40 050. This means it is touch-proof, dustproof, and resistant to multidirectional water jet sprays. A black prime coat is used to paint this housing, protecting the motor from the effects of yellowing, weathering, chalky build-up, dilute acids, and lyes. There is a blocking brake of 22.0Nm torque in the MDD servo motor to hold the servo axes backlash-free when it is disconnected from power. It also has a temperature monitoring system comprising a thermal sensor in its sensor. This protects it from irreversible overload damage.
