The Bosch MDD093B-N-020-N2M-110GA0 is a MDD series digital AC motor. In combination with drive controllers, MDD motors create cost-effective and high-performance automation systems. Drive systems with MDD motors are used for multiple applications such as textiles, packaging machines, robotics and handling equipment. Motors from the MDD093 series are especially well-suited to applications that require high power density, such as roller feeds for punching, nibbling and pressing machines. MDD motors are made with permanent magnet-excited motors. They are synchronous motors whose speed is synchronized to the frequency of input current. The magnets used for MDD motor construction are made of rare earth magnetic material and enable construction of low-inertia motors. Components of a MDD motor include the stator, a rotor shaft, windings, an optional blocking brake and a sealed housing.

The housing, cable connectors on MDD motors are sealed. In addition, the rotor is fitted with a shaft seal. All these combine to give MDD motors and excellent IP65 protection rating which provides complete protection from dust and from low-pressure water jets. Operators can operate the MDD093B-N-020-N2M-110GA0 motor with convection cooling or surface cooling. Convection cooling provides efficient heat dissipation at a lower cost but enables lower output torque and current. Surface cooling provides improved heat dissipation at a higher cost and enables increased output torque and current. Nominal speed rating of the servo motor is 2000 RPM. The motor has a plain shaft designed for non-positive shaft-hub connections. The motor is equipped with a multiturn absolute encoder and supports digital servo feedback. Its centering diameter is 110 millimeters. The main power connection is on side A of the housing. A blocking brake is not available on the motor.
