It is enclosed in a sealed housing that prevents the entry of water jets from different directions and solid extrinsic materials, including dust. Hence, its Ingress Protection rating in line with DIN 40 050 is IP 65. This housing has a layer of a black prime varnish covering it to protect the motor from the effects of weathering, chalky buildup, yellowing, and lyes.
