Product Description
An impressive feature of the MDD servo motors by Bosch Rexroth is their low inertia. It is made possible by the construction of the motor’s permanent magnets from unique materials. The motors are combined with Indramat drive controllers to obtain rapid-response automation systems.
The MDD093A-N-020-N2M-110GA1 is a compact MDD model with electronic commutation. Hence, it has a high cyclic load capacity and is suitable for continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. It is enclosed in a sealed housing which is coated in a black prime varnish resistant to potentially harmful agents like chalky buildup, weathering, dilute acids, and lyes. The Ingress Protection rating of this motor is IP 65 in line with DIN 40 050, indicating that it is touch-proof, dustproof, and impervious to multidirectional water jet sprays. Thanks to the thermal sensor in its windings, damage due to overheating can be averted, giving it high operational reliability. It is also cooled by natural convection and surface cooling, permitting extreme loads.
To ensure its maintenance-free operation, the MDD093A-N-020-N2M-110GA1 has a brushless design and lifetime-lubricated bearings. Its encoder is digital servo feedback with an integrated multiturn absolute encoder. The system accuracy of this encoder is ±0.5 angular minutes, while its measuring principle is optical. It replaces separate incremental encoders and evaluates the motor’s absolute indirect position. When it is disconnected from power, the absolute position is retained. In this same situation, its blocking brake provides a backlash-free holding of the servo axis. The blocking brake has a torque of 11.0Nm. The ideal ambient temperature for the motor’s operation is between 0oC and 45oC, with a maximum installation altitude of 1,000m above mean sea level.
