Product Description
Bosch Rexroth is the designer of the MDD servo motors with a compact build and high power-to-weight ratio. They are used to create rapid-response automation systems by combining with intelligent digital drive controllers from Indramat. They are used in machine tools, robotics, and handling equipment.
The MDD090C-N-040-N2M-130PA0 is a synchronous servo motor in the MDD series with a nominal speed of 4,000 revolutions per minute and centering diameter of 130mm. It has a brushless design and lifetime-lubricated bearings with a nominal service life of 30,000 operating hours. This allows it to be operated maintenance-free. Its output shaft with keyway per DIN 6885-1 provides form-fitting torque transmission while its shaft sealing ring prevents the entry of harmful fluids through the shaft. Heat dissipation during the motor’s operation is achieved via natural convection where heat is transferred to the ambient air along a temperature gradient. It also uses surface cooling; hence, it supports extreme loads.
Operating the MDD090C-N-040-N2M-130PA0 in harsh environmental conditions can be done safely because of its sealed housing. Its Ingress Protection rating is IP 65 according to DIN 40 050, indicating that it is touch-proof, dustproof, and impermeable to water jet sprays. This motor’s housing is coated with a black prime varnish with high-level resistance to chalky buildup, weathering, yellowing, lyes, and dilute acids. It is equipped with digital servo feedback with an integrated multiturn absolute encoder for the detection of its absolute indirect position. The encoder’s system accuracy is ±0.5 angular minutes and it preserves the absolute position of the axis even after power is shut off. It also has a data memory that stores information to accelerate the motor’s startup.
