The INDRAMAT MDD motor series are designed to execute precise motion control. When integrated with INDRAMAT digital drive controllers, these digital AC motors combine effectively to create automatization systems that are economical and exhibit rapid response. In general, the MHD series of motors exhibit various continuous torque and speeds, making them well-suited for different applications. These applications include tool machines, handling equipment, printing and packaging machines, robotics, transfer facilities, and textile machinery.

The MDD090C-N-020-N2M-110GR2 belongs to class size 090. Typical of other MDD090 motors, it is suited for high-precision applications. It is integrated with an 11.0 Nm blocking brake. Also, it has a nominal speed of 2000 min-1 and a centering diameter of 110 mm. According to DIN VDE 0530, it is placed in balance class R; therefore, used for demanding applications such as in grinding machines. It is equipped with digital servo feedback with an integrated multiturn absolute encoder. The encoder system enables an absolute indirect position detection on the motor. Its standard housing design allows the ideal cooling method for this AC servo motor to be natural convection and surface cooling. Proper operations require a conducive temperature of 45° C or less. When in storage or en route, a temperature range of -20 to +80° C is recommended.
