Product Description
The servo motors of the MDD series are maintenance-free motors designed to be used in the creation of rapid-response automation systems. They are available in different gradations of torque and speeds so that users can select the ones that are best suited for their specific needs. Drives with MDD motors are used in machine tools, robotics, handling equipment, transfer facilities, and printing and packaging machines.
The MDD090C-N-020-N2L-130GA1 is a Bosch Rexroth synchronous servo motor in the MDD series. It is a permanent-magnet motor with magnets composed of rare earth and iron oxide materials. As a result, it has low inertia and a favorable torque to inertia ratio that makes it suitable for high-dynamics operations. The motor’s housing design is suited for natural convection and surface cooling. It is completely sealed and safe to use in adverse environmental conditions with an Ingress Protection rating of IP 65 according to EN 60529. This means that it is dust-proof, touch-proof, and impenetrable to solid objects, and sprays from water jets.
Electronic commutation is a feature of the MDD090C-N-020-N2L-130GA1 that permits it to be used for continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. This is because electronic commutation gives the motor a high cyclic load capacity. Its nominal speed is 2,000 revolutions per minute, and its rotor has a moment of inertia of 53 x 10-4 kgm2. The integrated encoder system of this MDD motor model is digital servo feedback. It permits the evaluation of the relative indirect position on the motor and stores the information obtained in the intelligent digital drive. It also has a data storage capacity that enhances the quick startup of the motor.
