The Bosch MDD090A-N-040-N2L-110GA0 is a MDD series industrial servo motor. Its frame size is 090, frame length is A, and the housing has a standard design. Operators can use either natural convection or surface cooling to cool the motor during normal operation. The motor delivers higher torque and current output with surface cooling. Technical specifications for surface cooling are as follows: 5 Nm continuous current at standstill, 12.7 Amps continuous current at standstill and 30 minutes thermal time constant. Technical specifications for natural convection are as follows: 3.7 Nm continuous current at standstill, 9.4 Amps continuous current at standstill and 45 minutes thermal time constant. The nominal motor speed is 4000 RPM. The MDD090A-N-040-N2L-110GA0 also supports digital servo feedback. This feature allows the motor to be installed with a servo controller.
The servo controller performs two functions: provides motor power and control motor parameters such as speed and torque. The power cable from the controller connects to a socket on side A of the motor housing. MDD motors have either a plain shaft or a shaft with a keyway. The shaft on the MDD090A-N-040-N2L-110GA0 is plain. MDD motors also support an optional blocking brake. The MDD090A-N-040-N2L-110GA0 however does not feature a blocking brake.
