Product Description
To build a cost-effective, rapid-response system, a digital AC servo motor such as the MDD motor is required. It is combined with digital drive controllers from Indramat to achieve this. The motor also guarantees high contouring accuracies at high feed rates.
The MDD090A-N-030-N2L-110GA1 is one of the compact synchronous servo motors designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth in the MDD series. It has a bearing with a nominal lifetime of 30,000 operating hours, which remains lubricated throughout its service life. With the motor’s brushless design, these allow it to be operated maintenance-free. The MDD model’s nominal speed is 3,000 revolutions per minute, and it can attain a maximum torque of 17.7Nm. Its rotor is made from iron oxide and rare earth magnetic materials, giving the motor low inertia and a favorable torque-inertia mass. This rotor’s moment of inertia is 20 x 10-4 kgm2. According to EN 60529, the motor is a product of the IP 65 protection class due to its sealed housing that is safe from the penetration of solid extrinsic materials and water jet sprays.
Heat is eliminated from the MDD090A-N-030-N2L-110GA1 via surface cooling and natural convection. Its surface cooling option means that it allows extreme loads like continuous start-stop operations with high repetitive frequency. It also has a high cyclic capacity to support such operations due to electronic commutation. The integrated encoder system in this MDD motor is digital servo feedback with a system accuracy of ±0.5 angular minutes. This encoder has a data memory where the motor type name and control loop parameters are stored to decrease its start-up time. It also ensures its safe adaptation to the drive controller.
