Product Description
Electronic commutation, high overload capabilities, and a compact build are some distinct features of the MDD motors by Bosch Rexroth. They are highly functional AC servo motors with a brushless design, used to construct rapid-response automation systems with digital intelligent drive controllers from Indramat.
The MDD071B-N-040-N2S-095GB1 is a permanent magnet-excited MDD servo motor with lifetime-lubricated bearings. It uses digital servo feedback for the evaluation of its relative indirect position, eliminating the need for separate incremental encoders. This encoder’s data memory stores the motor parameters like its type name, accelerating its start-up time. The output shaft of the MDD model is plain, providing a non-positive shaft-hub connection and backlash-free torque transmission. It has a sealing ring that prevents liquids from entering the motor along the shaft. Its housing is rated IP 65 per DIN 40 050, indicating that it is touch-proof, dustproof, and impervious to multidirectional water jets. This housing’s coat is a black prime varnish resistant to yellowing, chalky buildup, and lyes.
A blocking brake of 3.0Nm torque holds the servo axis of the MDD071B-N-040-N2S-095GB1 when the machine is powered off. It uses the closed-circuit principle and is activated by the intelligent digital drive controller. The servo motor’s nominal speed is 4,000 revolutions per minute. Its rotor features permanent magnets derived from rare-earth materials and has a moment of inertia of 8.9 x 10-4 kgm2. This rotor design gives the motor a low inertia and favorable torque-inertia ratio for highly dynamic operations. To protect the MDD motor from irreversible damage due to thermal overload, it is equipped with a thermal sensor in its stator windings. It is cooled by natural convection and surface cooling.
