Product Description
Bosch Rexroth’s MDD synchronous servo motors can be used to obtain the most cost-effective and optimal solutions for numerous automation challenges. They are powerful servo motors available in different torques and speeds. Their applications include textile machines, robotics, and machine tools.
The MDD071A-N-040-N2S-095PA0 is a model of the compact MDD servo motors designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. It is a product of Balance Class R per DIN VDE 0530, making it suitable for demanding applications. Its motor feedback system is digital servo feedback, permitting the evaluation of the motor’s relative indirect position. With this encoder system, there is no need for a separate incremental encoder and the motor’s relative direct position can be detected as well. Its measuring principle is optical, with a system accuracy of ±0.5 angular minutes. It also has a data storage feature where the motor’s parameters are stored so that they are set in after powering up. The nominal speed of the MDD motor is 4,000 revolutions per minute.
A thermal sensor built into the stator winding of the MDD071A-N-040-N2S-095PA0 protects it from irreversible damage due to thermal overload. Heat is also efficiently dissipated from this stator, giving the motor a high overload capability. Its high cyclic load capacity is due to electronic commutation; hence, the motor supports continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. It is coated with a black prime varnish resistant to chalky buildup, weathering, yellowing, dilute acids, and lyes. The output shaft in this MDD model is one with a keyway per DIN 6885-1, ensuring a form-fitting transmission of torque. It also has a shaft sealing ring that prevents fluids from entering the motor through the shaft.
