The MAF motor series remains to be Rexroth Bosch's most outstanding AC motor series, featuring an efficient liquid cooling system. Since heat transfers faster via a liquid medium, the rate of cooling for liquid-cooled motors is much faster than surface-cooled and naturally-cooled motors. In comparison, surface-cooled motors typically have a thermal constant of 20 to 45 minutes, naturally-cooled motors have thermal constants above 45 minutes, and liquid-cooled motors have thermal constants below 20 minutes. The MAF180C-0100-FQ-M2-KH0-35-V1 is an example of an AC motor designed by Rexroth Bosch under the MAF motor series. It has a thermal time constant of 3.5 minutes, allowing it to fully cool for as low as 17.5 minutes after full-load operation.
The MAF180C-0100-FQ-M2-KH0-35-V1 has a windings designation of 0100, allowing it to achieve a full-load speed of 1000 rpm. It has a multiturn absolute encoder that can determine the rotor's position at any point in time, including the number of revolutions completed after some reference time. Using a multiturn absolute encoder as opposed to a singleturn encoder provides several advantages. For applications requiring the motor to stop or perform some action after completing a number of revolutions, having an integrated multiturn encoder is necessary.
With its reinforced mechanical bearing, the MAF180C-0100-FQ-M2-KH0-35-V1 is designed to withstand high radial loads during operation. The MAF180C-0100-FQ-M2-KH0-35-V1 supports both flange and foot mounting types of varying orientations. For foot mounting, however, radial loads and forces can only be applied in the direction perpendicular to the mounting surface. Since the MAF180C-0100-FQ-M2-KH0-35-V1 has no sealing ring, its shaft side has IP 54 degree of protection. During nominal operation, the machine delivers 400 Nm of torque and draws 93.5 A of current.
