Part of the MAF series of liquid-cooled Asynchronous servo motors, the MAF130D-0150-FQ-S2-AH0-05-N1 from Rexroth is an Industrial grade servo motor with a maximum speed rating of 7500 rotations per minute. This motor is designed for high torque industrial applications such as robotics, packaging, and production machines and is even used for running conveyor belt systems. This motor is designed to withstand extreme industrial environments thanks to its IP 65 rating which keeps it safe from both dust particles and high-pressure water jets.
The MAF130D-0150-FQ-S2-AH0-05-N1 features an Incremental encoder with a resolution of 2048 increments which is great for high precision shaft movements and is extremely important in applications that require precise servo movements such as robotics. The encoder generates 5 volts square wave pulses for every step it counts and sends the signals to the compatible controller module. For opposite direction movement, the encoder generates a negative amplitude square wave pulse which makes it easy for the controller to differentiate between the direction the motor is moving into.
For cooling the motor, Rexroth recommends using liquid water; however, users can experiment with a wide range of cooling liquids as long as they fall under the approved list of fluids by the manufacturer. The motor can be mounted on a component using a flange mount which is excellent as it prevents high vibration levels that may affect the motor's operation and might cause the shaft to break. It is also recommended by the manufacturer to mount the motor at a maximum altitude of 1000 meters above the ground level as the environmental factors at such heights may affect the overall performance of the servo motor.
