Product Description
Part of the MAD series of AC servo motors, the MAD180D-0200-SA-M2-KH0-35-N1 is an AC-operated servo motor that requires 168 to 480 volts AC with a 3-phase input voltage configuration at an input frequency of 50 to 60 Hz. This servo motor can draw a current of up to 117.4 amperes and will require a heavy-duty power supply capable of providing such high levels of current for this motor to function adequately. At standstill operation, the MAD180D-0200-SA-M2-KH0-35-N1 requires 132.6 Amperes of current and, in return, can generate a torque of 350 Nm.
The MAD180 motors are 2-pole design motors that come with 2 coils needed for rotating the shaft of the motor. This design is beneficial in applications where high speed and efficiency are required. In a two-pole motor, the rotor completes one full rotation for every cycle of the alternating current, which results in higher speeds compared to motors with more poles. The two-pole design is not only easy to wire but also lightweight and easy to move. This particular motor has frame size D which is easy to fit in small confined spaces.
Since this motor will be kept in open spaces outside in industries and warehouses, the MAD180D-0200-SA-M2-KH0-35-N1 comes with Ingress Protection of IP 65, which provides up to level 6 protection against dust particles of size up to 2 mm and level 5 protection against water and other fluids. To enhance the servo motor positioning accuracy, the MAD180D-0200-SA-M2-KH0-35-N1 also comes with a multi-turn absolute encoder which has a resolution of 2048 increments per 360-degree rotation and can count the number of rotations this servo motor performs. The servo uses the EnDat 2.1 serial communication protocol for its encoder.
