Product Description
Bosch Rexroth is an innovation-driven automation brand with diverse products suitable for a wide range of applications. It is the manufacturer of the asynchronous motors of the MAD series used as rotary main and servo drive motors. Their applications include metal-forming machines, machine tools, and food-processing and packaging machines.
The MAD160C-0200-SA-S2-EH0-35-V1 is a model of the compact asynchronous motors in the MAD series designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. It is equipped with two inbuilt PTC KTY84-130 thermal sensors to closely monitor its temperature and protect it from damage due to overheating. These sensors trigger a pre-warning at 110°C and shut off at 120°C. The motor uses a plain output shaft to achieve a non-positive, non-floating shaft-hub connection with zero backlash. Its encoder type is an integrated single-turn absolute encoder with the EnDat 2.1 interface, providing sin-cos signals (1 Vss) with 2048 periods per revolution and absolute period assignment within one revolution. The encoder’s data memory stores important motor parameters to aid its commissioning.
As a product of protection category IP 65, according to IEC 60529, the MAD160C-0200-SA-S2-EH0-35-V1 can be operated under adverse environmental conditions without the risk of damage. Its black coat protects against current mineral oils, seawater, sewage, water, dilute acids, and lyes. It also offers some extent of resistance against organic solvents and hydraulic oil. The reinforced bearings in the MAD model consist of deep-groove ball bearings and an additional cylindrical roller bearing on the output side. It efficiently absorbs radial forces. This induction motor is cooled via a mounted axial fan whose air currents are carried over the motor’s surface by air baffles. It is an energy-efficient and cost-effective heat dissipation mechanism.
